Vincent A. Lanci/ Yvette Guzman

Looking to learn more about the special needs community?  Time to buckle up for a value filled show from someone with the experience to serve you.

Yvette Guzman practices with the belief that every patient is her own family and goes the extra mile to coordinate care, decrease barriers and complexity for patients and families in navigating the healthcare system, and personalizing a wellness plan that gets you feeling your best.

She created this practice as she saw the need of the special needs community through her volunteer experience with the Special Olympics. Serving this community inspired her to create a better system for them and everyone to access care and create wellness that is often viewed as elusive or not available to all.

She wants everyone to have the access to the highest quality of care so they can reach their highest potential. The practice has grown and has tailored programs for every individual.

Other areas of discussion:

  • Changing the dialogue
  • First hand experiences
  • Things that help improve her mental health
  • What's next for her

This week's spotlight story will be on an article titled, BARRIERS TO MENTAL HEALTH CARE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. Follow along here.
