A Mental Health Break
Suicide Survivor to Published Author
Episode 89 - A Mental Health Break - Mental health professionals and advocates from around the world share their stories relating to mental health.
Meet Lauren Dow: As a suicide survivor who has struggled with major depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and a cocktail of other various mental health conditions, I felt alone in this world. I believed that my life wasn’t worth living, I would never change, and worst of all, I hated the person I saw in the mirror.
But when I faced the darkest parts of myself, I knew in order to live a life of happiness and purpose, I had to make one incredibly important decision: I had to choose to live.
Now my focus is helping others to reinforce genuine self-love and continue the conversation about mental health through writing, coaching, and connecting. Together, let’s feel what we need to feel, grow from the obstacles in our way, and never forget that we are not alone.
