Overcoming Perfectionism and Coping with Stress
Did or do you struggle perfectionism? Are you looking to learn more about responses to stress? This is the show for you.
Victoria Albina is a Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner with a master’s in public health and certified life coach, who, while seeking answers to her own chronic health concerns, observed how stress was physically manifesting as gastrointestinal issues and decided to take control of it through the study of somatics.
Inspired by the improvement in her quality of life, she set out to help address codependent tendencies in humans socialized as women. Just as anxiety is a spectrum, codependent tendencies appear in various degrees throughout the scope of our personal relationships. Considering the sheer number of daily interactions we have, there are plenty of opportunities for stress to arise and manifest in codependent choices.
By integrating somatic practices and breathwork, Victoria helps her clients work on their physiological responses to stress, enabling them to remain in control and self-advocate in challenging moments.
Other areas we will cover:
- What physical processes are happening in the body during a stress response and how it can have ongoing impacts
- How our stress response has been conditioned over a lifetime
- Why positive affirmations and action-based changes are useless if the body isn’t on board
- How learning to speak somatics, the language of our lizard brains, allows us to instill lasting changes by retraining the limbic system.
- A demonstration of the benefits of somatics through a short exercise for your audience
